Modern Wooden House by Arkinetic, Dyes Inlet Residence

Dyes Inlet is called Residence, this is a modern wooden house designed by Arkinetic located within  Bremerton, a suburb of Seattle, Washington. This house consists of main house, a studio / garage, boat storage shed and a house boat. The main house, with central atrium flanked by two wings, is a study of mass and light. North and south wing houses the public spaces that provide private bedroom. This mass provides privacy from the neighbors and keep up the transparency atrium.

Exposed in the atrium is a composite of wood and steel structure, main staircase and bridge connecting the two wings. Encouraging from the north and south faces of each wing is, battered concrete wall that serves as Bookends and sandwich two stories of glass and light the sky above provide circulation spaces within.

A concrete wall and water feature links datum studio / garage to the main house. Datum wall hold in the atrium and damaged by a stone chimney that serves as a visual and structural anchor. moved again to the exterior wall, dividing the public terrace with its view of Mt. Rainier private pool terrace from the bedroom and koi. The end wall datum is a jacuzzi on top of the bank. Studio / garage consisting of parking and work space below with a studio and deck above. Main studio is south orientation with glazing on all four sides. Studio deck looks down datum atrium glass wall through the middle of the main house to the inlet on the outside.
